Job Description
The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle to restore it to pre‑accident condition.
Key Job Responsibilities- Consistently execute WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Operate tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Use hammering, filler resins, and other techniques to correct dents and minor body damage.
- Realign car chassis and frames for structural repairs.
- Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts.
- Replace or repair glass, windshields, interior parts as needed.
- Weld and attach parts as required.
- Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or agreed paint.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
- Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure correct execution.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with fellow repairers in an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Thorough understanding of how to use trade tools.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with odors present.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Annual paid time off (PTO) plans.
