The Apprentice will shadow a Journeyman or licensed professional for a duration of two to three years before becoming eligible to take the journeyman exam. In this role, the Apprentice will assist the Journeyman with the installation and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and/or utilities in residential or commercial settings. Apprentices are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Apprenticeship Program at Skilled Trades of West Alabama.

Assist with installation and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and utilities in residential and commercial settings; track learning progress; follow safety procedures; prepare materials; support journeyman tasks; complete required training modules.

• Jumpstart Program Graduate from Skilled Trades of West Alabama or affiliated programs
• Construction experience
• Knowledge of your preferred trade
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Successful completion of required criminal record and motor vehicle record background checks
• Ability to pass a drug screening
