Summary
Lead the Operational Excellence efforts within the facility and leads the management team in process improvements.  Responsible for the development of the organization in the understanding and use of Operational Excellence tools and ensure that plant is continually moving toward the continued improvements and cost saving measures.    This role will support  Lighting's continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing cost reduction projects.  Responsibilities and qualifications of the position include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
o       Leading, facilitating and executing projects using continuous improvement principles and processes to deliver results.
o       Deploying Operational Excellence principles and processes across  Lighting's Industries.
o       Working with Plant Operational Excellence Engineers and management to facilitate setting priorities, developing goals, and designing objectives related to continuous improvement and cost out projects.
o       Aligning the project deck to Corporate and Division operating goals and objectives
o       Training, coaching, and challenging process owners in the use of statistical tools, approaches and techniques to create process management and measurement systems and develop an MVP mindset at the department or division level.    Assist MVP Champions in identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve productivity throughout the business units.
o       Working with Sr. Engineers, Managers and Continuous Improvement Director to ensure best practices are shared across the organization.
o       Lead and facilitate VAVE workshops.
o       Facilitate problem solving efforts to reduce cycle times and eliminate waste/cost of poor quality, apply value stream analysis to improve process efficiency, establish process flow, achieve measurable results and achieve breakthrough performance.
o       Must be an agent of change by identifying opportunities waste strategies and tools across the entire business, including administrative processes.
o       Managing multiple projects in a team-based, dynamic environment and clearly setting and communicating priorities and targets to others on the team.
o       Collaborate with both corporate and local leadership to develop and define CI plans that focus on key performance factors such as process stabilization waste elimination, cycle time reduction and productivity improvement.
o       Exploring and recommending traditional and non-traditional approaches in resolving issues     pertaining to improvement processes in line with Company goals.
o       Achieving timely results associated with tasks and objectives.
o       Championing Operational Excellence activities in a continuous improvement environment.

Position Requirements
Bachelor
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BS) Engineering (Technical degree preferred) from accredited college or university.

Engineering Technology degree acceptable with years of experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blue prints, and governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency using SAP, Microsoft Office, Minitab, and AutoCAD or other CAD Software.
