Financial Analyst (18-month Temporary)

Starting Hourly Rate: $46.10 (after completion of 6-month probation: $48.53)

Responsibilities include managing month‑end entries, financial reports for operating and capital budgets, reconciliations, quarterly and annual statements, and the asset depreciation database. The role supports budgeting and forecasting, audits, and informs decision‑making across the organization. The position is unionized, 37.5‑hour week during regular office hours, reporting to the Manager, Finance and Accounting.

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of recent and related work experience in a financial analyst role or equivalent.
• Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive approach to continuous learning and ability to adopt new technologies.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to not‑for‑profit financial operations.
• Knowledge of accounting functions, processes, and regulatory policies.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, M365 tools, and accounting/reporting software. Experience with Sage, Power BI, Power Automate, Generative AI, and ALFA is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including business English, and ability to provide a high level of customer service.
• Self‑starter, energetic, able to work independently and with regular interruptions.
• Accurate, well‑organized with strong accounting and administrative skills.

• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
• Within six months of hire, obtain and maintain Airport Security Clearance (RAIC).
