With the RESOLUTE consortium ((Please contact us using the "Apply for this Job Posting" box below)), we are trying to de-orphanize human transporters at a large scale and “unlock” them as potential pharmacological targets. We are currently pushing towards a paradigm-shift in the science of human cellular transporters by creating a massive, historical advance in knowledge on hundreds of individual transporters and the way they act together. These are very exciting times and research and the consortium is reaching full speed and thriving on synergies to turn this large effort into exploitable and practical knowledge.
We are searching for a highly motivated Project Scientist who wants to seize this opportunity and contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research in a highly dynamic public-private partnership. The RESOLUTE consortium is supported by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI,) with 13 partners from academia and the pharmaceutical industry and is coordinated by the Superti-Furga laboratory at CeMM.
The Superti-Furga group is composed of an international team of more than 30 scientists working together on understanding drug function at the molecular level. The laboratory investigates how cells and biological systems in general manage access to the environment through cellular transport. In particular how access to nutrients and energy source is tuned to metabolism and need of individual cell types. Moreover, the lab has pioneered approaches for functional precision medicine. The laboratory operates on a truly multidisciplinary basis and involves functional genomics and proteomics, structural analysis, chemical biology, high-content imaging, bioinformatics and physiology, reflecting the blend of expertise of the laboratory members. Your main mission is to plan, conduct and supervise de-orphanization studies -mainly proteomics and metabolomics - as part of the RESOLUTE team at CeMM in the Superti-Furga laboratory and in collaboration with the Proteomics/Metabolomics Facility at CeMM and RESOLUTE consortium partners. You are a creative scientist able to seize the opportunity to create, navigate, integrate, visualize and interpret original data in innovative ways. You are eager to team up with experimental scientists in the laboratory, project-lead data generation campaigns for unlocking the group of SLCs and to enjoy access to a group of 120 scientists distributed over six pharmaceutical companies, 1 biotech and six academic research institutions.
