A well-established engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and execution of advanced mechanical systems. This position is critical to project delivery, technical leadership, and maintaining high standards of product quality from initial concept through final implementation.
Job Duties:- Lead mechanical system and component design initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with sales, project management, procurement, and manufacturing teams
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD tools (Solid Works, AutoCAD Inventor, Vault)
- Ensure designs align with customer requirements, industry codes, and regulatory standards
- Design with a strong focus on manufacturability, assembly efficiency, performance, and reliability
- Review customer input and implement continuous design enhancements
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes, adjusting designs based on results
- Identify and resolve design or production-related issues
- Oversee engineering change management processes
- Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept to production release
- Maintain project schedules and meet established milestones
- Occasional travel or after-hours support may be necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering systems
- Familiarity with UL standards (UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, UL 857, UL 1008, UL 62368/60950) preferred
- Experience with electrical power distribution systems is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Solid Works, AutoCAD Inventor, Vault, and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated mechanical design expertise and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for client and internal collaboration
