Advanced Practice Provider to work Monday‑Friday (no call, no weekends) from 8am‑5pm in outpatient clinic. Position will support patients with a wide range of cancer diagnoses in radiation oncology through outpatient clinics and by triaging and managing inpatient consults in collaboration with an attending MD. You will join 8 radiation oncologists and an APP. Great role for someone who enjoys multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment with plenty of variety.
Position based at the Emily Couric UVA Health Comprehensive Cancer Center. Prior oncology experience a plus. OCN or AOCNP certification a plus.
Background checks and pre‑employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety‑sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
Responsibilities- Provide care for medical breast oncology patients in an ambulatory setting.
- Perform routine follow‑up visits for patients on chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormonal therapies.
- Evaluate patients requiring acute symptom management.
- Manage patients in longitudinal survivorship post‑treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (research coordinators, social workers, lymphedema therapists, dieticians, surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists).
- Perform and document history & physical exams, and analyze clinical data to form well‑developed differential diagnoses.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic therapies, adjusting the plan of care based on ongoing objective and subjective data collection.
- Identify appropriate subspecialist consultation.
- Effectively communicate plans of care with patients, families, nurses, and other stakeholders; navigate complex psychosocial dynamics.
- Participate in and evaluate quality initiatives to benefit quality of care and patient safety.
- Engage in process improvement and quality improvement initiatives, incorporating evidence‑based practice.
- Lead other care team members in a dynamic environment.
- Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master’s degree.
- License or license‑eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia.
- Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
Current PALS/NRP and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position. - Prior oncology experience a plus. OCN or AOCNP certification a plus.
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching overhead, repetitive motion of computer keyboard. Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50‑100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

The starting base rate for this role is $116,123 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
