Description
Supervises, through subordinate supervisors, the installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of electrical and electronic power, control and instrumentation systems for wastewater reclamation facilities and pumping stations; and performs other related duties as required.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This class differs from the Wastewater Plant Electrical I Electronics Supervisor I class in that the Wastewater Plant Electrical I Electronics Supervisor II class is distinguished by its responsibility for supervising, through subordinate supervisors, the installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of electrical and electronic power and control systems for wastewater reclamation facilities and pumping stations; whereas the Wastewater Plant Electrical I Electronics Supervisor I supervises the installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of electrical and electronic power, control and instrumentation systems for wastewater treatment plant facilities and pumping stations.
Examples of Duties
The following are examples of duties and are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in this class. The omission of specific duties statements does not preclude management from assigning such duties if such duties are a logical assignment for the position.
- Plans, coordinates, assigns and reviews, through subordinate supervisors, activities involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of a variety of complex electrical and electronic power, control and instrumentation systems for wastewater reclamation facilities, pumping stations, and auxiliary facilities.
- Supervises the installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of control systems and intercommunicating equipment such as sensing devices, transducers, amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, electric motors and recorders which utilize mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal, chemical, electrical and electronic components employing multiple function circuits, signal integration, digital to analog conversion, P/I conversion, l/V conversion, potted circuits and solid state circuit boards. Also to include the electrical and electronic components of pumping and processing equipment, valves, motor control systems, SCADA control systems, programmable motors, and other related equipment.
Supervises the design and modification of electrical and electronic circuits to meet varying operational needs. Supervises the maintenance of electrical, electronic and testing equipment. - Supervises shop and bench work in testing and adjusting new equipment for maximum operating efficiency.
- Participates in the development of preventive maintenance schedules and adjusts such schedules to meet changing conditions.
- Evaluates and reviews maintenance reports and service requests. Develops schedules and prioritizes work. Reviews the adequacy and effectiveness of work in-progress and upon completion.
- Makes periodic inspections to ascertain condition of equipment. Recommends repair, modification or changes in equipment or operating procedures to improve efficiency and prolong the life of the equipment.
- Develops and implements ongoing safety training programs that adhere to federal, state, and county occupational safety regulations. Develops and implements ongoing operations and maintenance training programs as it pertains to the section's objectives.
- Estimates personnel, equipment and time required to complete projects.
- Initiates and prepares requisitions for parts, tools, equipment and supplies.
- Schedules and assigns work and determines work procedures. Recommends work to be contracted out depending on workload, personnel, materials and facility requirements. Inspects and recommends approval of work performed on contract.

- Assists in the preparation of and the adherence to the section's annual budget.
