About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified History Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in Walsall from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to inspiring students and developing a love for history through engaging and creative teaching methods.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality History lessons across Key Stages, creating a positive learning environment, and supporting students in reaching their full academic potential. You will work closely with the wider department and school team to deliver a broad, engaging and challenging curriculum.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured History lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages participation and learning.
  • Differentiate lesson plans to meet the varying needs and abilities of students.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and uphold school behaviour policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and leadership teams to support student development.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities where appropriate.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best.
