Job Summary
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full‑Time Supervisory Environmental Engineer (NH‑0819‑03) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the 78 ABW at Robins AFB, Warner Robins, Georgia. This federal job offers a rewarding and exciting career with benefits.

Who May Apply:
Current Command (AFMC)
- Act as a first‑level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Environmental Section.
- Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Environmental Section to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and to meet customer needs.
- Exercise 1st‑level technical and administrative supervisory responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time.
- Represent the Environmental element with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
- Communicate and coordinate base Environmental matters with higher headquarters, regulatory agencies, and community officials as needed.
- Direct the development and execution of the Environment budget.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Obtain and maintain a Security clearance.
- Designated drug testing position.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The job may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle; an appropriate, valid driver’s license may be required.
- May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an actual emergency.
- Professional registration or license in one of the 50 states or territories is desired but not required.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of professional engineering/scientific principles, practices, techniques, regulations, and procedures to effectively perform supervisory functions associated with environmental compliance and restoration project development, execution, training, and advisory services.
- Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common business and economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principles and standards; and of the DoD planning, programming and budgeting system (PPBS).
- Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Skill in evaluating state‑of‑the‑art scientific and engineering technologies and incorporating them into environmental compliance and restoration.
- Ability to analyze, plan, organize, and direct work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources, and to mentor, motivate, and appraise staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, including federal and local government and industry.
