Position OverviewThe Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the payroll operations of the organization. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with legal regulations, and provides guidance to General Managers and local Payroll Administrators. The Senior Payroll Specialist also collaborates with HRIS, IT, Finance and Operations departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing- Process and review payrolls for hourly, and full-time non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle complex payroll calculations, including bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Balance, audit and prepare payroll for review for Payroll Manager.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Review of applicable reports for auditing purposes.
- Provide guidance and training to GMs and Payroll Admins in the field.
- Act as a point of escalation for payroll-related issues from the field.
- Collaborate with HRIS, Operational Improvement and Finance teams to improve payroll processes.
- Collaborate with HRIS to ensure payroll systems are functioning as expected.
- Troubleshoot system issues and liaise with IT for resolution.
- Assist with new payroll technologies and processes.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure employee satisfaction.
The hourly pay is going to be $35.00 - $41.00.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and training experience.
