Position: 7th Grade 8th Grade Special Ed Teacher - Warwick, Rhode Island

This contract role offers the opportunity to work with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in a supportive educational setting near Warwick, RI. Daily hours are 7:30 AM to 2:15 PM, providing structure with ample time for work-life balance.

Your primary focus will be delivering academic support as a Special Education Teacher, utilizing both push-in inclusion models within general education classrooms and select pull-out sessions for targeted academic and MLL (Multilingual Learner) support. The ideal candidate brings a SPED certification and, preferably, an ESL endorsement to help meet the diverse needs of students.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Special Education certification (required)
  • ESL endorsement (highly preferred)
  • Experience with middle school grades, especially 6th-8th
  • Familiarity with push-in/inclusion teaching methods and collaborative teaching
  • Ability to provide individualized and small group instruction for academics and MLL support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
  • Support middle school students with differentiated instruction in core academic areas
  • Co-teach in general education classrooms (push-in) to promote inclusion and engagement
  • Conduct targeted pull-out sessions for students requiring additional academic or MLL assistance
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related services personnel
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and learning objectives
  • Foster a supportive, positive learning environment
