About the Role
Balfour Beatty is a leading international infrastructure group delivering complex projects. We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager for the N1/N2 Headhouse Project in Warwick, part of the HS2 programme. The role involves overseeing planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities across the works, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient, and aligned with programme, cost, and quality objectives.
Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate multiple work packages and site teams.
- Ensure all works are delivered safely in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Drive programme delivery and ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Oversee subcontractor performance, coordination, and compliance.
- Work closely with engineering, commercial, and planning functions.
- Monitor quality and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and construction documentation.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve site issues.
- Report progress, performance, and key risks to senior stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager or similar leadership role on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Strong background in heavy civils, structures, or reinforced concrete works.
- Experience managing complex interfaces and multiple subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction planning and programme management.
- In‑depth knowledge of UK health and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- SMSTS (essential).
- CSCS card (essential).
- Smart working with up to 40% remote working where roles allow.
- 25 days paid annual leave (pro‑rata).
