The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) is the national trade association representing the leading producers and marketers of distilled spirits in the United States. DISCUS champions the industry by opposing higher taxes, reducing global trade barriers, and supporting policies that enhance market access for spirits products. The organization also advocates responsible, moderate consumption and offers resources on sector data, public policy changes, cultural initiatives, and international trade opportunities.
DISCUS plays a critical role in shaping the industry for its members and stakeholders.
This position provides administrative support for the Membership, International, Economics, and Education departments.
Responsibilities and Duties Membership- Assists with data entry and tracking member information in the customer relationship management (CRM) system to assist with data analysis, member engagement, and financial tracking.
- Assist other departments with CRM-related inquiries and requests.
- Update website to ensure events, webinar announcements, recordings, and other materials are current.
- Assist with managing webinars.
- Manage and update target segments for marketing campaigns.
- Design and execute email campaigns through the CRM platform.
- Draft, track, and manage member highlights articles in weekly newsletters.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any CRM-related technical issues or user challenges.
- Maintains detailed records to support USDA audits and to comply with USDA regulations for the DISCUS export program.
- Prepares timely correspondence with members and vendors to support the DISCUS export program. Tracks and follows through until completed.
- Prepares expense reports for staff per government regulations and organization guidelines.
- Provides comprehensive international travel support, ensuring full compliance with all applicable U.S. government regulations.
- Participates in occasional travel as required.
- Provides administrative support to Chief Policy, Strategy & Membership.
- Reviews and submits invoices and expense reports for processing for all 3 Offices.
- Maintains budgets and tracks spending across the 3 Offices.
- Updates website content for membership, international, and economics offices.
- Prepares final copy from drafts of correspondence, agendas, minutes, presentations, etc.
- Assists with scheduling meetings as needed.
- Assists with Committee meetings as needed (drafting of minutes, scheduling, etc.)
- Assist the Education Department with WSET courses, such as assisting students with any inquiries, submitting forms for booking and exams, updating spreadsheets with names and results for data tracking, and other materials, etc.
- Other activities as assigned that contribute to the mission of the organization.
One-two years of general office support service
Required Skills- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to plan-ahead, manage multiple projects at once, work independently and accurately, and maintain deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Effective and timely project management.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suites (focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe, and web-based research techniques.
- CRM experience is a plus.
