Human Resources Intern – Fall 2019 (Washington, D.C.)

HRF is seeking a HR Intern highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented and multi-tasking with strong work ethic. The selected candidate will support our Human Resources team with HR related projects, including but not limited to: providing administrative and logistical support with the onboarding process, performance management, assist in organizing and coordinating our HR policies and create a volunteer program. This internship position provides opportunities for students to build real-world experience, working on a wide variety of HR projects and gain exposure to fast-paced, collaborative office environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist HR with data and file management.
Support the onboarding process.
Assist in organizing and coordinating our HR policies and procedures.
Create a volunteer program.
Post, update and remove job ads from job careers pages and our website.
Help with Benefit Open Enrollment
Prepare HR-related reports as needed (like training budgets, social event proposal and more)
Participate in organizing HRF events.
Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience as a staff assistant or similar junior HR role is a plus
Strong research and critical thinking skills
Experience with MS Office is required
Basic knowledge of labor legislation is a plus
Organizational skills
Detail oriented self-starter
Desire to learn and be flexible
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Spanish proficiency is desirable
Personable, able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people

EDUCATION: Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited undergraduate university or college in Human Resources or a related field
COMPENSATION:  UNPAID. The internship will be based on educational attainment and related experience.
START DATE: September 2nd
TIME COMMITMENT: 15 hours per week minimum. Internship will run until December 6th, 2019.
