Salary: $66,013 to $126,828 (based on the School District’s pay scale)
Job DescriptionTeaching and supporting bilingual/ELL students in elementary grades. Duties include assisting the classroom teacher with lesson plans, delivering instruction to bilingual students, managing classroom behavior, and collaborating with teachers and administrators.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Adapt instructional materials to support individualized learning plans.
- Administer tests and language assessments.
- Advise parents/guardians on student progress.
- Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with instructional staff, parents, and community resources.
- Provide instruction and counseling to support academic and personal success.
- Demonstrate classroom and subject‑specific teaching methods.
- Direct assistants and volunteers as needed.
- Manage student behavior and model English communication.
- Monitor students in various environments to ensure safety.
- Participate in meetings, prepare written materials, and report incidents.
- Respond to emergencies and inquiries.
- Support classroom teachers in curriculum implementation.
- Current Washington Teaching Certificate with Elementary Education Endorsement.
- Bilingual Education or English as a Second Language Endorsement (in addition to Elementary Education).
- Fluency in Spanish, preferred.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with students at elementary level and in subject area.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Desire to work with all students.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. WA State Teaching Certificate required with appropriate endorsement. Background clearance mandated.
