Overview
Serve as a classroom instructor for the Young People’s Studios program, teaching Kindergarten to 5th grade classes during Summer Art Camp and on Saturdays in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Responsibilities- Deliver art and design content to youth through classroom instruction.
- Prepare and submit a syllabus within stated deadlines.
- Prepare a supply order within stated budget and deadlines.
- Greet students and families warmly, assisting with any questions or concerns.
- Exercise classroom management, interventions, and support as needed.
- Prepare students and student work for the end‑of‑session art show and presentations.
- Maintain accurate attendance records for each class period.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate art content (painting, drawing, and mixed media).
- Skill in materials and tools specific to the course.
- Ability to deliver scaffolded content to a variety of learners and adapt to individual needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Demonstrated years of experience teaching in the K‑5 elementary art classroom.
- MSDE certification in Art Pre‑K‑12, CTE, or other relevant area.
- Master’s in Art Education or Teaching.

Conditions of Employment- Background Check.
$4,515.00 - $7,656.00, commensurate with experience and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Part‑time faculty are represented by SEIU Local 500.
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentJob requires occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires visibility, color perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level is usually moderate to high. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions pertinent to the time of year.
