Department SummaryThe Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing complex systems, processes, and operations to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. They analyze workflows, eliminate waste, and implement cost‑effective solutions across manufacturing, logistics, and supply‑chain operations. Industrial Engineers utilize data analysis, process simulation, and lean manufacturing principles to enhance overall performance and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities- Analyzes material usage to optimize material selection and plant‑wide standardization to reduce costs.
- Improves process flow and optimization of movement through bottlenecks and general practices (e.g., autoclave, OPF workflow).
- Uses the philosophy and practices of 5S to create tools and methodology that work within Janicki’s dynamic shop environment.
- Optimizes and standardizes workflow and project team interaction with production.
- Leverages ERP tools to control workflow.
- Communicates and trains method improvements to the global community.
- Creates, manages, and leads process and program‑specific continuous improvement initiatives, including events to ensure they are established with cross‑functional buy‑in.
- Evaluates and reduces waste in programs and processes through training and experience, gaining familiarity in said program/process, and using knowledge/wisdom gained to identify improvement opportunities.
- Creates a Janicki‑style Lean Manufacturing that incorporates the JI culture to progress the company toward higher efficiency and a better working environment.
- Stabilizes processes statistically, using the scientific method to implement improvements.
- Evaluates the use of all plant‑wide equipment to optimize workflow, processes, capabilities, and uses through the scientific method.
- Provides an IE perspective and input in the purchasing and implementation of new equipment and software into the shop floor.
- Works with automation, facilities, and maintenance to provide solutions for quality, workflow, and general plant optimization.
- Leads and oversees engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develops detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and risk assessments.
- Coordinates cross‑functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to achieve project objectives.
- Utilizes data‑driven decision‑making to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
- Monitors project performance using key metrics, providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Identifies and mitigates potential project risks while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Facilitates communication between departments to ensure seamless execution and successful project outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Composite/Material Science, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field. - Preferred:
