Junior Test Design Engineer

Purpose of the Role

The role is a Junior Test Engineer / Test Development Engineer position that sits between the design engineering and production testing functions. The primary purpose is to support the development, maintenance, and improvement of electronic test systems used to verify and calibrate the company's audio communication products.

• Supporting the development of production test equipment and test procedures for electronic products.
• Investigating test failures and analysing test data to identify root causes.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting test fixtures and equipment used by manufacturing sites, including remote support for overseas facilities.
• Assisting with calibration activities and ensuring test systems remain operational and accurate.
• Supporting new product introductions by helping develop and validate test solutions for new headset products.
• Acting as a bridge between manufacturing, testing, and product design teams.
• Providing hands‑on support for product servicing and testing activities when required.

• Assist with specification, setup, and debugging of production test equipment.
• Execute test plans, validation activities, and analyse test results.
• Maintain and troubleshoot test equipment and test software (Python and C#).
• Support development of test fixtures and production test systems.
• Monitor test performance, repeatability, and stability in mass production.
• Maintain documentation and support calibration activities.
• Perform fault‑finding, root‑cause analysis, and investigation of test failures.
• Assist with analysis of returned customer products (RMAs).
• Collaborate with quality, design, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.

• Coordinate implementation of production test systems with manufacturing partners.

• Support the design and specification of production test systems.
• Help ensure test solutions meet technical requirements and are delivered on schedule.

• Basic programming in Python and/or C#.
• Electronics testing and measurement fundamentals.
• Data analysis and reporting.
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing and production environments.
