Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team and enhance our operations at the Wayne, MI plant. This role offers an opportunity for annual extension and provides valuable experience within an OEM plant associated with Ford Motor Company.

Responsibilities- Communicate effectively and promptly when plant Quality Concern Notifications are issued.
- Present the status of issue resolution to the plant management team.
- Serve as the key interface with the Quality department.
- Understand the supplier's manufacturing process and facilitate visits from the supplier's corporate office.
- Participate with Incoming Quality during investigations of emerging quality concerns.
- Ensure defective parts returned to the supplier are delivered and verify certified stock usage on the line.
- Quarantine suspect stock or ship it back to the supplier, preventing reintroduction to the assembly line.
- Drive closure to all issues and communicate status through PCA to affected parties.
- Handle disputes and attend IQ meetings as applicable.
- Support bi‑weekly Top Supplier Meetings and daily Plant Quality Meetings.
- Conduct surveillance audits in the assembly plant for ECB issues and internal assembly plant concern rejects.
- Facilitate warranty parts shipment to the supplier and follow up daily to ensure parts have been delivered.
- Follow up with the supplier plant contacts to ensure extraordinary actions and 8
Ds are sent to the plants on time.
Skills & Qualifications
- 6–10 years of related work experience.
- BS Engineering Degree or equivalent STEM major.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in quality engineering and problem‑solving techniques such as Black Belt, Green Belt, Global 8D, and 6–panel.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior wiring harness engineering experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot wiring harness problems.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical structure.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt, learn continuously, and develop strategic plans.
- Ability to embrace resilience and view challenges as learning opportunities.
- Multifunctional skills to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and cost with ownership, teamwork, and communication.
- Willingness to travel.
The position is based on a plant floor setting, requiring interaction with various stakeholders and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of Wayne, MI.
Pay and BenefitsPay range $34.00–$38.00 per hour.
