Leidos has an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Technician to work on the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC). In this position, the incumbent will provide semi‑professional technical support for engineers working in areas such as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement. Work pertains to electrical and mechanical fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing, supporting both new hardware development projects and sustaining engineering.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide technical engineering support and perform steps via work authorizing documents
- Perform work pertaining to laptops, printers, audio‑visual equipment, electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment
- Perform cable and electronic component fabrication utilizing NASA recognized workmanship standards (soldering, harness and cable, staking/conformal coating, etc.)
- Support multiple projects, prioritize, and accomplish tasks in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines
- Lead some operations within an area that has significant impact on results for the organization
- Assist and train lower‑level support employees
- General lab cleanup and maintenance
- Employees are expected to routinely lift up to 35 lbs without the assistance of mechanical aides
- High School diploma or equivalent, and 3 year’s related experience
- Strong understanding of how to read and implement requirements from engineering drawings and work orders
- Familiarity with the engineering drawings process
- Familiarity with tool calibration
- Perform cable and electronic component fabrication utilizing NASA recognized workmanship standards (NASA 8739.1, NASA 8739.4, IPC‑J‑STD‑001, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620)
- PWB population using various soldering techniques (through hole and surface mount)
- Electronics troubleshooting
- Working understanding of Maximo Inventory Management System or similar task order system
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust background investigation. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required.
