Job Overview
Edward Jones is a Fortune 500 financial services firm that serves over 9 million clients and employs 20,000 financial advisors across the U.S. and Canada. The advisor role provides a home‑office team and branch office support to grow a personal practice, backed by a region‑wide network of advisors and a new compensation and training program.
Key Responsibilities- Build relationships to create new clients via face‑to‑face and virtual sourcing strategies (residential, business, networking, introductions, referrals, social media, speaking engagements).
- Deeply understand clients’ and prospective clients’ needs, priorities, and concerns to accelerate trust and create personalized, comprehensive strategies.
- Oversee branch processes, roles, and responsibilities to ensure a high‑quality, streamlined client experience consistent with firm policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and ethical guidelines.
- Engage the branch team to create, monitor, and adjust the branch business plan to increase branch effectiveness and achieve desired business results.
- Create a highly engaging environment in the branch of mutual trust, respect, feedback, and accountability.
- An interest in financial services/markets and how they work.
- Love of learning and challenges, including determination to succeed.
- Skilled in long‑term relationship building.
- Comfortable in your ability to think critically.
- Passion for new opportunities.
- A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred or equivalent work‑related experience within the securities/financial services industry.
- Financial services and/or sales experience.
- Financial services registration, licensing, or certification.
- Professional and/or military career progression.
- SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 will be required; registrations may be obtained at Edward Jones during the assigned paid study period.
- FINRA registrations required within three months. State insurance licenses required.
- Ongoing training offered by the firm and regulatory authorities (FINRA and SEC) and required CE training to keep licenses in good standing.
Edward Jones’ compensation and benefits package includes salary, commissions, and a supplemental salary for up to five years. Benefits include medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary accident and critical illness coverage, disability income continuation, basic life and basic AD&D at no cost to advisors, a 401k retirement plan, a health savings account and a flexible spending account, paid sick leave, paid time off, and participation in the firm’s Travel Award Program.

The new financial advisor compensation program includes trainee pay, a supplemental salary for up to five years, commissions and compensation for new assets gathered for the first five years. Supplemental starting salary range: $45,000 – $100,000.
