Assistant Nurse Manager – Responsibilities

As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily functions.

• Consistently promote a positive and healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
• Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
• Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
• Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
• Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
• Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
• Support professional development to improve employee retention.

• 2 years clinical RN experience
• 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
• A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
• Current RN License to practice in state of employment
• Life Support Certifications per Department Standards: NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.
• Nursing Specialty Certification:
  Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer. Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role.

Medium Work – Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
