Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector with water/pump station and/or roadway/bridge experience for the South Florida area.

• Perform highly complex technical assignments related to stormwater, pump stations, roadway and/or bridge construction.
• Receive general instructions regarding assignments and exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of construction-related work problems.
• Direct and assign specific tasks to inspectors and assist in all phases of the CEI construction project.
• Prepare reports and maintain daily logs of inspections, reviewing any discrepancies with the proper parties.
• Assure the quality of the contractor’s work.
• Be responsible for verifying the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.
• Recognize construction problems and communicate with relevant team members to apply standard techniques and procedures to solve the problem.
• Implement field changes to required drawings and specifications.
• Make and check engineering computations.
• Inspect construction work and conduct field tests.
• Be responsible for coordinating and managing a team of inspectors.
• Maintain daily contact with contractors to discuss construction activities.
• Attend construction meetings with client and contractors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection, or
• Civil Engineering degree and one (1) year of roadway and/or bridge construction experience.
• Excellent visualization, communication, and documentation skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
• Proven ability to distribute learned knowledge to project personnel, inspectors and material testing technicians.
• Ability to assist Project Administrator and be able to fill this role temporarily in their absence.
• Aptitude to act as a positive representative of the Stanley Consultants core values and active participation in an outside professional organization or internal Stanley committees (i.e., Group Safety Committee, MAC, etc.).

The position requires the ability to work at and easily maneuver around construction sites in various weather conditions, lift and transport up to 50 lbs., and possibly climb ladders, scaffolding, trenches, etc. Fear of heights or confined spaces could create a significant hardship.

This position may require some out-of-town work assignments. The position will require performing work throughout the state of Florida. If so, per diem and housing arrangements will be provided by the company. Work hours of this position are not defined and will vary week to week as we are required to work at all times that the general contractor is on-site performing substantial work activities.

This position will be required to operate a company vehicle. The prerequisite to operating a company vehicle is maintaining an acceptable driving record.
