About the Role
GAI Consultants is seeking a Roadway Permitting Technician (Associate Administrative Professional
1) to join the Energy Business Sector, focusing on oil and gas, electrical transmission, and renewable energy initiatives. The candidate will coordinate with clients and agencies, prepare permit applications, develop drawings, create deliverables, and monitor budgets from inception to completion.
- Utilize Bluebeam Revu and AutoCAD to generate drawings and supplemental documents.
- Work with Excel to create and manage spreadsheets.
- Lead and train staff to perform field visits to client sites to obtain photos, physical measurements, and assess site conditions.
- Work independently on a project basis.
- Communicate with internal staff, clients and agencies to coordinate activities.
- Possess a valid driver's license and travel to project sites and agency offices; occasional overnight stay may be required.
- Wear and work in Personal Protection Equipment and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Progress in applying knowledge of principles and practices in a specific area, adapting standard techniques and criteria.
- Acquire general knowledge of related fields and function on multidisciplinary teams.
- Apply teamwork skills to effectively plan, execute, and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Take initiative, anticipate tasks, work independently, research online, organize, multitask, meet deadlines, and solve problems with good communication.
- 0+ years of experience.
- Associate degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Combination of experience, related coursework and/or education may replace requirement for a college degree.
- Driver’s License.
- Implement roadway permitting support by providing high-level tasks supporting operations.
- Collect and analyze internal and external information to support roadway permitting.
- Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of roadway permitting support projects.
- Prepare project scopes, schedules, and plans for assigned projects.
- Receive general direction on key objectives and guidance on complex problems.
- Attend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes.
- Mentor junior staff by providing guidance, explaining responsibilities, and reviewing work products. Communication Skills
