Staff Accountant (Hybrid - Westbrook, ME)

Westbrook, ME (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant who is looking to grow their career and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational accounting experience who wants exposure to a wide range of responsibilities, including month-end close, payroll, and project support.

Key Responsibilities

+ Support the monthly close process, including:

+ Preparing journal entries

+ Performing account reconciliations and resolving variances

+ Assist with inventory and work-in-process (WIP) tracking and reconciliations

+ Process payroll and handle related reporting

+ Partner with project managers to support project setup and basic financial tracking

+ Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting activities

+ Participate in process improvements and system enhancements

+ Provide support on ad hoc projects as needed

+ Gain exposure to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree

+ 1-3 years of accounting experience (mid-size company experience preferred)

+ Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP

+

Experience with payroll processing

+ Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables)

+ Exposure to an ERP system preferred

+ Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus, but not required

This is a Permanent position based out of Westbrook, ME.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
