Role Overview:
My client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team in Sullivan. The successful candidate will support project execution from inception to completion, ensuring that all objectives are met within budget and on schedule. This role involves significant collaboration with various teams and requires a proactive approach to managing complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating & Budget Management: Collaborate with the Estimating department to develop comprehensive project estimates and budgets. Continuously track project costs, provide timely feedback to senior management, and assist in maintaining cost control systems.
- Project Coordination & Planning: Aid in formulating project strategies, coordinating with cross-functional teams to align on project goals, and supporting subcontractor selection and oversight.
- Scheduling & Timeline Management: Develop and update detailed project schedules using industry-standard tools, identify potential schedule risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Work alongside Quality Control teams to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements while documenting and addressing quality issues.
- Risk Management: Support risk identification and assessment efforts, contribute to risk mitigation planning, and assist in managing change orders and unforeseen project challenges.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication with clients and stakeholders, provide project updates, and assist in addressing inquiries and change requests.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and distribute comprehensive project reports, maintain accurate project documentation, and contribute to effective project presentations.
- Contract Administration: Assist in contract review and management, ensure compliance with contract terms, and address potential disputes in coordination with legal and internal teams.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, estimating, or construction management.
- Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage budgets and cost reports effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams.
- Thorough understanding of construction industry practices and safety standards.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
