Salary: $19 to $19 Per Hour
ResponsibilitiesThe custodian will perform the regular duties of a building custodian in a school or public building and perform related work as required.
Responsibilities include:
- Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used and safety precautions for custodial work, including proper use of custodial supplies such as synthetic soaps, scouring powders, floor finishes, and techniques for applying them on various surfaces.
- Knowledge of the use, operation and care of custodial equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, auto‑scrubbers, floor brushes, mops, etc.).
- Knowledge of care of buildings and grounds, lawns, shrubbery, and minor adjustment and repair of furniture and equipment, including plumbing, heating, and electrical fixtures.
- Knowledge of fire and accident prevention, including operation and care of fire extinguishers.
- Knowledge of proper display of the flag of the United States of America.
- Ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships.
- Physical fitness to perform a variety of manual tasks.
- Neat appearance and good moral character.
Position involves sitting and the ability to travel between locations. This role involves heavy work with frequent lifting or carrying of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds with some pulling and pushing or reaching above. Frequent use of hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
