Senior Principal Electronics Engineer; onsite

Position

Senior Principal Electronics Engineer – Westford, MA (commuting distance or relocation permitted)

• Lead projects: manage teams, prepare and present project plans and proposals, and report on progress.
• Design and review electronic circuits for safety system components.
• Plan and conduct design qualification testing.
• Liaise with Product Management, other R&D teams (Software Engineers, Mechanical Designers, PCB Engineers, Technical Authors, SQA).
• Liaise with Factory Production Engineering and Test Engineering to introduce products into manufacturing and maintain existing products.
• Liaise with Marketing and other departments to keep up-to-date with technical development.
• Provide technical support to Technical Support teams.
• Liaise with suppliers and service providers, including regulatory approval organizations globally.

• 10+ years of electronic product development in an R&D environment.
• Experience with analog electronics design using sensors, bipolar and MOSFET transistors, Op‑Amps, passive components.
• 3+ years leading a team and providing technical and procedural direction.
• Experience with digital/microcontroller hardware development.
• Project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or a related field (other degrees considered with relevant experience).

• Experience in the Fire or Security industry.
• Design experience meeting global regulatory standards (UL, BRE, VdS, EMC, International Standards).
• Experience with design and type testing for compatibility with International Standards.
• Digital/analog simulation tools (e.g., SPICE).
• Experience with programmable logic devices: PALs, FPGAs, CPLDs.
• Embedded software development.
• Electrical safety and hazardous area application experience.
• Field Bus and communication network experience.

• Salary Range: $130,000 – $180,000.
