Position
Temporary Watercraft Inspector & Decontaminator (9 months or less) with pay $18.50–$19.50 per hour. Employment starts 05/19/2026 through 10/31/2026 at Turquoise Lake, Leadville, Colorado.
Responsibilities- Lead Inspector – train inspection staff, create schedules, ensure all shifts covered, maintain accurate timekeeping records, assist in hiring/firing decisions, enforce standard protocols, verify accurate data entry, maintain inventory of supplies, perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on power washer/decontamination unit, provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species. Early morning, evening, and weekend work required.
- General Inspector – conduct boat inspections and decontamination of boats launching and leaving the reservoir, monitoring for invasive species such as zebra and quagga mussels, provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species, receive training, and report directly to the boat ramp. Early morning, evening, and weekend work required.
- High school diploma.
- Good driving record and ability to work weekends, early mornings, and late evenings.
- Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines and/or heavy equipment is preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Reliable and timely.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Compliance with fleet vehicle policy and maintenance of a valid driver license.
