A well-established heavy civil construction company in the Denver metro area is looking for an experienced Paving Superintendent to lead daily field operations at our Lipan Plant location.
Salary: $65,000 – $90,000 DOE Location: Denver, CO (on-site)
Schedule: Full-time | Exempt | Flexible hours including nights & weekends as needed
What You'll Do: Lead and supervise a paving crew (operators, laborers, truck drivers) on CDOT, FAA, municipal, and mainline paving projects. You'll own the day — planning work sequences, coordinating equipment and materials, enforcing safety, hitting quality specs, and keeping production on schedule.
Key responsibilities include:
- Directing crew activities, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress
- Overseeing setup and operation of pavers, rollers, and tack trucks
- Ensuring proper mat depth, joint construction, temperature, and compaction
- Leading daily safety meetings and enforcing OSHA compliance
- Coordinating with trucking, asphalt plants, QC, and subcontractors
- Managing daily reports, truck tickets, crew hours, and material quantities
- Acting as site lead with inspectors, owners, and GCs
- Working knowledge of budgets, change orders, cost codes, POs, and contracts
- What We're Looking For: 2+ years in heavy civil construction (CDOT, FAA, municipal, and mainline paving)
Strong understanding of paving processes and crew management
Self‑motivated, dependable team player who can work with minimal supervision
Solid computer/tablet skills (time entry, equipment tracking, KPI reporting)
Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
Able to work outdoors in varying weather, plus nights and weekends as needed
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus - Health, dental, and vision insurance
