About Us
My client is a growing and dynamic contractor delivering high-quality electrical and construction solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, and public-sector projects. Due to continued expansion, we are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to strengthen our commercial team.
The Role
This is a key position responsible for managing both pre-construction estimating and commercial project delivery. You will play a vital role in ensuring cost-effective project execution while maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
* Preparation of detailed and accurate electrical estimates and tenders
* Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
* Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
* Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
* Supporting bid submissions and client negotiations
Quantity Surveying
* Managing the commercial lifecycle from project award through to final account
* Cost planning, tracking and reporting
* Preparing valuations, variations, and applications for payment
* Subcontractor procurement, administration, and final accounts
* Contract administration (JCT / NEC)
* Managing project risk, cash flow, and margin performance
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Electrical QS, Estimator, or dual-role professional
* Strong knowledge of electrical installations and M&E projects
* Experience with JCT and/or NEC contracts
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
Desirable
* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction
* Experience working on commercial, healthcare, or public sector projects
* Knowledge of estimating software
