Position Overview

The Electronic Technician (Navaids) applies a working knowledge of computer and navigation skills to maintain and operate shipboard systems. The Electronic Technician (Navaids) will also be required to interact with shipyard personnel, port engineering staff, and equipment vendors. This position reports to the Electronic Technician Supervisor.

Responsibilities

* Maintain ship navigation, assist with shipboard communication, automation control, CCTV and shipboard safety systems

* Maintain ship networks and computer systems following established Cyber Security guidelines

* Supervising shipyard work during maintenance periods

* Deployment at sea for extended periods up to 2 months at any one time

* Inventory control of all equipment

* Assist shipboard ET in maintenance of Radars, Dynamic Positioning System, ECDIS, and GPS systems

* Maintain and upgrade all computer and electronic systems under the direction of ET Supervisor

* Additional duties as assigned
