Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care for Elders (ACE) (Full Time)

Day Shift (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.). Weekend and holiday schedule follows department guidelines.

Christiana Care – Wilmington Hospital’s 8S Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit cares for older adults, typically aged 70 and above, focusing on maintaining function, providing education, and ensuring patient safety.

• Work closely with patients to deliver care that supports elderly patients facing an acute illness.
• Build relationships with patients and families within a true relationship‑based care model, guided by values of love and excellence.
• Assist in managing a team of five medical patients per shift and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including unit‑based Nurse Practitioner, physicians, pharmacy, physical therapy, and other assistive personnel.
• Closely monitor patients, assess physical condition and safety risks, handle emergencies, and provide ongoing supportive care.
• Receive training in evidence‑based care practices for older adults.

• DE RN License or Compact RN License.
• BSN or commitment to obtain within three years of hire date.
• Preferred: at least one year of RN experience in acute care (medical, surgical, or step‑down).
• BLS required.
• Demonstrate a passion for working with older adults.

Hourly: $41.28 – $66.05 (range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting; actual salary will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications).
