Overview
Minimum of eight (8) years of process/plant engineering experience in GMP manufacturing large molecule biologics facilities, including green- or brown-field start‑up projects involving process systems, automation, utilities, and facilities.
Position SummarySenior/Principal Engineer for the Large Molecule Drug Substance (LMDS) project, located in Wilson, NC with domestic travel most likely once a year.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, organize, and execute project plans with external partners (A&E, construction firms, equipment vendors) as the subject‑matter expert and process systems owner.
- Serve as Process Engineering Expert to design business‑based technology solutions and provide integrated equipment, utility, and facility engineering expertise for strategy and CAPEX manufacturing projects.
- Lead technology transfer and new‑technology development initiatives, ensuring process fit to plant methodology and practices.
- Analyze technology and manufacturing challenges and synthesize business needs, manufacturing requirements, engineering elements, and technology inputs into actionable solutions.
- Lead multi‑functional teams on multiple projects, improving processes and resolving inter‑functional issues.
- Collaborate closely with internal manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to develop standards, define project priorities, and manage risk.
Minimum:
Bachelor’s or equivalent university degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred: MS/MBA/Ph.D. and Professional Engineer (PE) certificate.
Skills- Eight (8) years of process/plant engineering experience in GMP manufacturing large molecule biologics facilities.
- Experience in green or brown field GMP manufacturing facility start‑up, including process systems, automation, utilities, and operations.
- Strong technical background in process and manufacturing engineering with analytical skills to synthesize business needs, manufacturing requirements, engineering elements, and technology inputs.
