- Serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist in the Information Management (IM) organization of a US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) District/Division.
- Provide customer support services for District/Division IT equipment, software, systems, interfaces and networks.
- Provide complex IT support services in four specialty areas—systems administration, customer support, network services, and Internet.
- Develop modifications and procedures to resolve problems and initiate corrective action.
- Provide individual counseling and conduct classroom training sessions.
To qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your résumé must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience:
At least one year of information‑technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following competencies:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. - Education (GS‑05): Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited or pre‑accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the above fields and required development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
- GS‑07 Specialized and Other
Experience:
One year of specialized experience that includes assisting users in resolving network and technical computer problems/malfunctions; installing operating systems, interface equipment, and authorized software/hardware; escalating incidents and requests to appropriate team members when resolution or process is unknown or out‑of‑scope in a timely manner. - Education (GS‑07): One full year of graduate‑level education from an accredited or pre‑accredited institution in the same fields, or a graduate program providing a minimum of 24 semester hours and required development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
- GS‑09 Specialized and Other
Experience:
One year of specialized experience that includes troubleshooting and resolving network and technical computer problems/malfunctions; installing operating systems, interface equipment, and authorized software/hardware; ensuring software and hardware compliance with established IE standards, security guidelines, and regulations; and escalating incidents and requests to appropriate team members in a timely manner. - Education (GS‑09): Master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading to such a degree, from an accredited or pre‑accredited institution in the same fields.
- GS‑11 Specialized and Other
Experience:
One year of specialized experience that includes providing customer support services by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving software and hardware problems; installing operating systems, interface equipment, and authorized software on networks for workstations; and conducting training regarding systems and/or software. - Education (GS‑11): Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading to such a degree, from an accredited or pre‑accredited institution in the same fields.
