The State of Connecticut, through Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), is recruiting a Related Education Department Head for Windham Technical High School in Windham, CT.

- Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 7 hours per day - Location:
Windham Technical High School, Windham, CT - Academic Calendar: 10‑month calendar (188 days per year)

- Instructional Support
: supports teachers with lesson planning, reviews lesson plans, observes instruction, provides feedback, participates in PLCs, assists with program implementation, and models instructional strategies for diverse learners. - Leadership
: assists in implementation of district and school initiatives, plans and leads PLCs, provides professional development, serves on committees, maintains professionalism and confidentiality. - Operational
: manages departmental budgets, prepares and submits OF‑95s, schedules courses, performs inventory tasks, maintains records, and fulfills other administrative duties.
- Active State of Connecticut teaching certificate (#105 Department Chairperson or #092 Intermediate Administration or Supervision and one of the following subject area certificates: #029 Mathematics 7‑12, #030 Biology 7‑12, #031 Chemistry 7‑12, #032 Physics 7‑12, #033 Earth Science 7‑12, #034 General Science, #047 Technology Education PK‑12, #043 Physical Education PK‑12, #044 Health PK‑12 or eligible to hold a certificate in a subject area (includes ARC candidates).
- Well versed in high school science curricula.
- Professional experience related to teaching science.
- Experience with varied assessments to inform instruction and promote learning.
- Experience fostering classroom management and behavior intervention plans.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google products.
Incumbent must possess, at time of appointment, a valid certificate issued by the Connecticut State Board of Education with a secondary school endorsement.
