Job Summary:

We expect you to create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each student's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement engaging culinary arts and child development curriculum that aligns with educational standards and industry best practices.

* Plan and deliver lessons that cover a range of culinary topics, including food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety.

* Create and utilize various teaching methods, including demonstrations, hands-on activities, and lectures, to cater to different learning styles.

* Provide hands-on instruction and supervision, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.

* Work collaboratively with administration and staff from elementary schools to partner with student teaching opportunities.

* Demonstrate proper cooking techniques and safety procedures, emphasizing hygiene and sanitation.

* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning and skill development.

* Evaluate student performance through practical assessments, quizzes, and projects.

* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and participation.

* Stay up-to-date on current culinary trends, techniques, and industry standards.

* Collaborate with other teachers and professionals to develop best practices and improve the program.

* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

* Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean and safe working environment.

* Assist with school events and activities related to culinary arts.

* Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.

Qualifications:

Must have valid Connecticut Certification Number:
Home Economics, 045
