Employment Opportunity
Santa Rosa Junior College is accepting applications to join a pool of associate faculty. Assignments may be temporary, part‑time, or on‑call and can occur immediately or as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Part‑time, hourly assignments. A part‑time faculty assignment may not exceed 67% of an annual full‑time assignment.
Starting hourly rate is based on academic background, vocational experience, and teaching experience; see the hourly salary schedules for details.
Compensation for assigned classes is paid over the duration of the assignment.

Medical insurance for eligible faculty.
Associates accrue sick leave on a pro‑rated basis.
Retirement options include CalSTRS Defined Benefit, CalSTRS Cash Balance, and Social Security; eligibility is based on prior CalSTRS membership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction and faculty support to students, including evening, weekend, online, hybrid, or off‑campus assignments.
Offer academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
Maintain currency in your field(s) of expertise.
Focus primarily on instruction and/or student services.
May be asked to provide additional services (e.g., committee work, evaluations) for additional compensation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of full‑time (or equivalent) related experience;
or Associate’s degree and six years of full‑time (or equivalent) related experience;
or the equivalent; or possession of a fully satisfied (Life) California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Police Science or Public Services and Administration.
Requires sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti‑racism.
Successful recent completion of a P.O.S.T. Certified Instructor Development Course or equivalent.
Experience in corrections, probation, or supervisory course work.
