Position: 2026/2027 - Associate Faculty - Administration of Justice (Law Enforcement Training/ PSTC)
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Santa Rosa Junior College is accepting applications to establish a pool for associate faculty assignments. Assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
Assignments are on a part-time, hourly basis and may not exceed 67% of an annual full-time assignment.

Salary placement based on academic background, vocational experience, and teaching experience (depending on discipline); initial step placement at Step 1 pending evaluation.

Compensation for assigned classes is paid over the duration of the assignment.

Benefits include medical insurance for eligible faculty, sick leave accrual on a prorated basis, and retirement options (CalSTRS Defined Benefit, CalSTRS Cash Balance, and Social Security). Eligibility is determined by prior CalSTRS membership status.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, including evening, weekend, online or hybrid and/or off-campus assignments.

Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.

Maintain currency in field(s) of expertise.

Focus primarily on instruction and student services.

May be asked to participate in district or department service such as committee work for additional compensation.

All duties represent essential functions of this job.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND two years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) related experience; OR Associate's degree AND six years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) related experience; OR the equivalent; OR possession of a fully satisfied (Life) California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Police Science.

Required sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to valuing and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.

Successful completion of a P.O.S.T. Certified Instructor Development Course or equivalent.

Experience in Principled Policing/Procedural Justice and report writing.

Selection Process
Candidates are reviewed in the queue until a departmental need arises. Selected candidates are invited for interview; those not immediately assigned remain in the pool for up to four years.

Conditions of Employment

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Successful completion of background check, including Live Scan and tuberculosis screening.

Willingness to work on-site as determined by the department.
