Overview
A manufacturing operation is looking for an experienced Lathe Machinist to support precision production work. The role involves hands‑on machining, setup, and inspection of components in a shop environment where accuracy, consistency, and safety are essential.

This position suits someone who works well independently, understands machining processes, and can maintain quality standards without constant supervision.

Core Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC vertical lathe machines with live tooling in a machine shop environment.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job instructions to ensure accurate production requirements are met.

Inspect finished parts to verify conformity to specifications and dimensional requirements.

Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to verify part accuracy.

Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain quality output and meet tolerance standards.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with established procedures.

Follow all safety protocols and production standards at all times.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC and/or manual lathe machines in an industrial machining environment.

Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Live tooling experience required.

Ability to interpret 2D technical drawings and dimensional specifications.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control and tight tolerances.

Ability to work rotating shifts including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends as required.

Legally eligible to work in Canada.
