Truck Driver CDL Night Shift

What you’ll need to succeed as a Truck Driver

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Current Class 1 or Class A CDL with proper airbrake/manual transmission endorsements as indicated by each province
• Safe driving record and history

• Hazardous materials certificate(s)
• Proper airbrake/manual transmission endorsement(s) for other provinces
• Forklift experience

• Safely operate a tractor‑trailer combination, including doubles and triples
• Provide excellent service to customers, including generating sales leads
• Load and unload freight
• Perform vehicle inspections required under Section 396.13 of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (if crossing into the U.S.)

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 75 lbs.)
• Move and position a converter dolly with an average weight/pull force of approximately 128 lbs
• Safely climb in/out of a tractor cab/trailer
• Sit for extended periods in a truck tractor and/or on a forklift
• Walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery (including working outdoors in inclement weather)
• Reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
• Operate a tractor‑trailer combination for up to 11 consecutive hours, in all types of weather, while safely transporting hazardous/non‑hazardous materials

Eligible participants hired while the program is in effect receive a $1,000 sign‑on bonus, subject to repayment terms if employment is terminated early. A $1,000 retention bonus will be paid to those who reach 6 months of continuous employment in their qualified position. Bonuses are subject to all applicable taxes. Current XPO employees are not eligible for sign‑on or retention bonuses.
