Office Administrator (Distribution Centre)

we are currently recruiting for an experienced and organized Office Administrator for our client in the building supply industry in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys supporting teams, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service while keeping office operations running smoothly.
Position Summary
The Office Administrator will provide administrative, payroll, customer service, and operational support to store and Head Office teams. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining efficient office operations, supporting staff, and ensuring excellent service for customers, suppliers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Manage day-to-day office administration and filing systems
Scan and maintain documents accurately within company systems
Order office supplies as needed
Maintain organized and professional office workspaces
Assist with onboarding and orientation of new employees
Support staff with benefits enrollment and inquiries
Customer Service
Answer and direct phone calls professionally
Provide exceptional customer service to customers, vendors, and contractors
Address customer concerns in a professional and timely manner
Maintain a welcoming and positive office environment
Payroll & Finance Support
Review and submit employee hours for payroll processing
Assist employees with expense claim forms
Support accounting and reconciliation processes as required
Assist with vendor credits and administrative finance tasks
Inventory & Operational Support
Assist with inventory preparation and annual inventory counts
Support merchandise receiving and data entry when required
Maintain working knowledge of the bis Track POS system
Assist with operational procedures and administrative workflows
Team & Communication
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Work collaboratively with store and Head Office staff
Cross-train with team members to support operational needs
Maintain professional communication with coworkers and vendors
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
Previous office administration or customer service experience
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong computer and data entry skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Professional, dependable, and customer-focused attitude
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with payroll or accounting support
Experience using POS systems (bis Track experience is an asset)
Experience in retail, construction, or building supply industries is considered an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
