Position title
Mechanical Designer/ Drafter - Winnipeg Description Our Mechanical Department has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Designer/Drafter Responsibilities Past experience in the fields of commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-family projects would be considered an asset in fulfilling this position. We seek individuals who are team-oriented and can contribute to all stages of a project. In return, we provide excellent opportunities for professional development and advancement.
Key responsibilities include the following:
Work closely with senior designers, engineers, and drafting specialists on projects that include ventilation, building services (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection), and other mechanical systems; Prepare and develop mechanical drawings and schedules using Revit and AutoCAD, including preliminary, schematic, general arrangement, detailed design for tender, and construction drawings for a wide range of clients; Assist in the design and coordination of mechanical systems with other disciplines;
Revise drawings and layouts based on markups, design direction, and project requirements; Participate in site visits to assist with surveys of existing mechanical systems and support construction reviews; Maintain familiarity with current codes, standards, and industry practices; Actively work at improving current knowledge of mechanical design and drafting.
Qualifications Membership with an Association of Professional Engineers.
· Proficiency in REVIT, or Autocad.
· Strong communication skills and professional attitude.
· Experience working in design or construction of buildings;
· Good technical, organizational, coordination, and communication skills, as demonstrated through former employment or course work;
· Proficient at reading and interpreting technical specifications, design drawings, and details.
· Desire to develop skills and expand career;
· Willingness to work in the field at project sites as necessary;
· Travel for short durations may be required, and a valid driver’s license is an asset.
