Position: BIM / CAD Technician

LDA is seeking a self‑motivated, hard‑working individual as a full‑time BIM/CAD Technician. As a BIM/CAD Technician, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians on a wide variety of structural engineering projects for public and private sector clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Creation of accurate and detailed structural contract drawings based on designs supplied by Project Engineers using AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Translation of notes and sketches into detailed CAD drawings and models.
  • Accountable to Project Engineers for drawing production and quality.
  • Accountable for schedule and efficiency.
  • Track project hours and work within designated budgets.
Qualifications, Experience, Education
  • Diploma in Civil/Structural drafting or technology from an accredited technical college.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of structural systems and detailing of structural components and assemblies.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision and balance the demands of working on multiple projects at any given time.
  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Construction experience is considered an asset.
  • In‑person work location.
  • 37.5 standard work week (8:30am – 5:00pm) plus overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
  • Modified working hours in the summer (May – September): 8:00am – 5:15pm Monday‑Thursday, 8:00am – 12:30pm Friday.
