The Opportunity
This position provides ongoing support to the Manager, Finance.
The Financial Analyst works closely with the Finance management team and key business partners within The Common well to gain knowledge of our insurance operations and perform month-end financial analysis, support the development of forecasts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This role assimilates gathered data from interactions and uses creative thinking to use the information gained through supporting key business partners to ensuring corporate business objectives and financial results are achieved.
This role will also support ad hoc assignments including reviewing existing financial processes and reporting, identifying inefficiencies and recommend enhancements by using existing Microsoft and other available applications to create improvements.

How You Will Create An Impact
Perform month-end analysis – commentaries and other reports
Assist with the annual plan and actively drive the forecast process
Establish and grow partnerships with internal customers across all departments and cross functional teams to provide decision support, business analysis and provide excellent customer service
Meet with business unit and functional leads monthly to review results, explain significant variances against plan and prior year, and identify actions required to bring the results back to plan
Perform detailed financial analysis, track value add KPI’s
Assist with determining and driving adoption of new annual planning tools
What You Will Bring
Post-Secondary Education in the field of Business or Commerce enrolled in professional accounting designation – CPA
Understanding of insurance industry an asset
Exceptional literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel, and Power Point
Solid understanding of accounting functions and principles are required
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
