Overview: We are an out‑patient community pharmacy located within the hospital. Unique opportunities for collaborative practices leading to a challenging and rewarding career. Responsibilities- Provide patient‑centered care along with exemplary customer service in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
- Fill, prepare, check, and dispense patient prescriptions as per physician orders.
- Supervise all Pharmacy Assistants/Technicians and approve all their drug‑related tasks.
- Use proficient communication skills, including counselling patients, to ensure their understanding of what they have been prescribed.
- Coordinate with prescribers, patients, family members, caregivers, and other medical professionals to ensure seamless care and transitions from hospital to community.
- Provide specialized clinical services, including administering medications by an advanced method, pharmacist prescribing (e.g., minor ailments and smoking cessation), and medication training and other clinical services as deemed necessary by the Pharmacy.
- Fulfill all duties of a pharmacist as defined by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- Licensed through the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba as a practicing pharmacist.
- Maintain certification and be a member in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
- Certification to administer medications by an advanced method and pharmacist prescribing (or willingness to acquire).
- High degree of initiative, ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and possess time management, organizational, and multi‑tasking abilities.
- 1 to 2 years of pharmacist experience in a community setting considered an asset.
- Experience with Kroll pharmacy software considered an asset.
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday:
Closed - Shifts rotate on a schedule.
- Average rotation of 1 in 3 weekends.
