Role Summary
Join the Prairies & North Environmental Management team as an Intermediate Environmental Scientist, contributing to assessment, management, and remediation of contaminated sites across northern and prairie landscapes.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver Phase I-III Environmental Site Assessments, including historical reviews, intrusive investigations, and contaminant delineation.

Plan and execute field programs for soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water sampling to support contaminated site characterization.

Analyze environmental data to develop conceptual site models, identify contamination pathways, and support human health and ecological risk assessments.

Support the design and implementation of remediation strategies aligned with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and site‑specific conditions.

Prepare clear, defensible, and timely technical reports that inform environmental liability evaluations, permitting, and redevelopment decisions.

Work collaboratively with hydro geologists, engineers, risk assessors, and Indigenous and community partners on multidisciplinary contaminated site projects.

Contribute to environmental protection plans and mitigation approaches that reduce impacts during investigation and remediation activities.

Support clients in navigating provincial and federal contaminated sites regulations across the Prairies & North.

Qualifications

3–6 years of applied experience in contaminated sites investigation, remediation, or environmental risk assessment.

Strong field capabilities and ability to work safely in remote, northern, and challenging environments.

Experience with environmental sampling methods, monitoring programs, and field data management tools.

Understanding of applicable contaminated sites guidance and regulations within Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and northern territories.

Comfortable using tools such as environmental databases and digital field applications to interpret and present environmental data.

Scientific mindset grounded in curiosity, rigor, and a commitment to supporting healthier communities and environments.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $33.60 – $45.20 hourly

MB & ON: $30.70 – $42.80 hourly

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $30.40 – $40.90 hourly
