Allen & Major Associates, Inc. is seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our Woburn, MA office. The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years of experience in the preparation of civil/site construction documents and permitting submissions (local, state, and federal) associated with a variety of private land development projects.
In this role, you will work closely with the firm’s Principals and Project Managers to support private land development projects through various phases of development.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to perform grading and drainage calculations, prepare site due diligence materials, and assist with the preparation of engineering plans, construction documents, specifications, engineering reports, permit submissions, and construction administration services.
Experience with SWPPP inspections and general field work is considered a strong plus.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required; knowledge of Hydro
CAD and Civil 3D is a strong plus. The ideal candidate should work well in a team environment and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in private land development
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities
- Ability to perform technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, interpretation of plans and specifications, and evaluation of applicable regulations
- Ability to work independently and adhere to standard QA/QC procedures
- Ability to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- EIT certification preferred, or obtainable within one year of hire
- 3–5+ years of professional engineering experience
