Job OverviewProvides nursing care to patients in an efficient, professional, compassionate and caring manner. Directs the activities of paraprofessionals as they provide care, ensuring effective communication with patients, support persons and the healthcare team. Implements nursing care of assigned patients via the Nursing Process—including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation—while acting in compliance with hospital, Nursing Department policies and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Ohio.

- Directs paraprofessional activities and ensures effective communication with patients, families and team members.
- Implements nursing care using the Nursing Process and maintains clinical documentation per nursing guidelines.
- Provides age‑appropriate health teaching and ensures patient and family understanding through teach‑back.
- Demonstrates proper use of CPOE, follows the six rights of medication administration, and ensures safe medication handling and documentation.
- Participates in patient huddles and rounds, evaluating safety, infection control, practice standards, and educational plans.
- Coordinates work to maximize productivity, multitasks and prioritizes workload, and completes tasks in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates reasonable judgment in decision‑making and performs other duties as assigned by the management team.
- Active RN license in the State of Ohio.
- Current American Heart Association BLS card.
- BSN degree.
- Clinical certification.
- Exposure to blood, body fluids and/or airborne pathogens; must wear personal protective equipment.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, turn, crouch and bend necessary for nursing care tasks.
- Requirement to take on‑call status.
- May be reassigned to another nursing unit to provide care within the current job description.
- Subject to short‑term hour reduction (STHR) according to policy.
36 hours per week; 12‑hour shifts, three shifts per week and every third weekend.
